About Alan

Hi, I’m Alan — a digital dinosaur who’s been making money online since dial-up tones were a thing and websites were hand-coded with love (and a lot of <table> tags). I started my online journey in 1999, back when you could build a site about pretty much anything and traffic would just magically show up like it had nowhere better to be.

My first big win? Running one of the internet’s top discussion forums for DVD lovers and home theater geeks. For years, it was the second-largest forum in the niche—because hey, someone’s gotta be #2 while still making waves.

As the internet evolved, so did I. I dove into media buying, regularly spending six figures a year on profitable ad campaigns, and learning (sometimes the hard way) what makes people click, convert, and come back for more.

Along the way, I’ve also managed more Facebook Groups than I can count, run Reddit subs where chaos meets community, and handled Twitter accounts with just the right mix of strategy and snark. If it involves online communities, content, or conversions, I’ve probably been in the trenches.

Now, with 25+ years of experience riding the ever-changing wave of the online world, I’m here to share what I’ve learned minus the fluff, plus a bit of sarcasm and coffee-fueled wisdom. Whether it’s through blogging, mentoring, or random late-night tweets, I want to help others navigate this wild, wonderful internet jungle and build something real.

Let’s make the web weird and profitable again.
